Often I receive messages in which I am asked for help on what to match with a blue suit in order to make it less trivial and obvious.
Except ceremonies for which you must opt for white or baby blue shirt, my advice is to experiment in combinations.
The basic rule for not to fails is to never repeat the same pattern on a shirt and tie. Try to match polka dots and strips as much as you can. Try also to to respect a hierarchy in the dimension of patterns: big polka dots are perfect when paired with a shirt with little stripes and as a monochromatic tie will bind to perfection with generous squares.

For what is about the colors you can go two ways: you can choose the same base color for tie and shirt (red on red, green on green, yellow on yellow) or have fun in the combinations. My must are yellow shirt with red tie and blue paired with yellow or green.

We had already published a post giving you some advice on this subject so those who want to know more on this subject can read it here.
