Isn’t easy to describe the Journey of Senses we have experienced during the first evening of this Milan Design Week.
As previously we’ve anticipated here, Lexus involved us in a path articulate in three different moments, results of a four hands collaboration between Philippe Nigro and Michelin-starred chef Hajime Yoneda.

STAGE 1. The Future of Lexus.

The first leg of the route is a stimulus for the view. Here a casing of concave and convex mirrors emphasized by multi colored light beams which embraces a prototype of the future of Lexus.

Nigro says that the installation was created after a visit to the Lexus establishments, fundamental experience for him to understand how much care is taken in the production of vehicles for both those elements are immediately visible for both hidden ones.

With this installation are therefore ideally highlighted all the details of the car, according to the “Inside-Out” design concept.

STAGE 2 . Lexus Design Award 2015.

The second area is entirely dedicated to the 12 finalists of the Lexus Design Award 2015, for this edition dedicated to the theme of the senses.

Among the 1172 projects that have decided to join the contest, the “Sense-Wear” of the Italian duo formed by Emanuela Short and Ivan Parati has been named winner of the competition.

STAGE 3 . Rain – Wood – Earth.

Get to the last leg of our journey, stage three.

Here is where there’s the real discovery of senses according to a process organized in three stages called Rain, Wood and Earth designed by Philippe Nigro together with Hajime Yoneda.

Rain is a dark room that evokes the experience of a storm, mostly in a visual, auditory and gustatory level. The location is decorated with subtle lights which like rain fall down along the dark walls while in the background echoes the roar of the water.

The perfectly circular setting called Wood gives us an immersion in nature and reproduces the idea of finding themselves in the heart of a tree. The senses are further stimulated by a praline created by Yoneda that, with its taste, gives off nature also in the mouth.

Earth is the last room where we tasted the soup of the Earth with a global view on our planet that can enhance the force life of Mother Earth.
