New Year’s eve elegance
I know many of you will be tired of a post that deals with the same old boring topic: preparation for new year’s eve parties, a celebration that most of us don’t even care of, but that morally binds us to dress up and be red carpet ready. I’m not gonna tell you what to wear or what make up to use, but I’ll give you some advices and I’d like to write with your help a little guide to get us through new year’s eve with class and style.
First of all, I suggest having a look at online sales to buy a new outfit that will help us welcome the new year with a fresh attitude. I think one-pieces are really chic, but they suit only the tallest and skinniest of us. I have decided to go for a dress, I don’t know yet which kind- I still have to browse the sales!- because I find it easier to match than the pairing top+skirt or jeans+tuxedo jacket, and if it’s not too body conscious, it will allow us to properly enjoy new year’s eve dinner! Budget wise, we could add a nice pair of shoes, preferably high heel or embroidered loafers.
I find mandatory freshly coiffed hair, light make up and manicured hands. As you already know, I am so lazy that I have decided to keep my jewellery to a minimum, I’ll stick to a precious watch and either lobe earrings if I’ll wear my hair down, or chandelier earrings if I’ll go for a messy up-do, with a few strands loose to frame the face.
A clutch is another must eve, richly decorated if your outfit is a little too basic, or a simple one if your outfit is quite quirky.
I think I gave you advices suitable for a dinner party in town, they may not be very useful for the luckiest of you that will spend their vacations at the beach, but if you’re uncertain on what to wear, you can always check my post from the summer!
For those of you who will head to the mountains, things are even easier: a nice chunky sweater, skinny jeans, a fur coat, a big scarf and a hat, understated jewellery, Ugg boots on the way out and a pair of heels or flat in your bag to wear indoors, depending on what you’re up to.
How are you guys celebrating? Have you already planned your outfit? Let me know in the comments, and have fun!
