Early last week we went to Switzerland where we spent three days between Zurich and Basel.
The reason? Audermars Piguet invited us to preview Art Basel, one of the most important contemporary art exhibition in the world.
After Art Basel Hong Kong, Audermars Piguet was in Basel and will also take Art Basel Miami next fall.
The relationship between Art Basel and Audemars Piguet is a perfect combination where “art” meets the “art” of making timepieces.
Audermars Piguet was present at Art Basel with a large space evoking the Vallee de Joux, the place where AP was born in 1875.
Surrounded by photographs of the valley taken by Dan Holdsworth, three monolithic blocks cladded by mountain wood tell Audemars Piguet story, from its origins to the great reality that is today.
In the first block we discovered few secrets that make AP movements so unique, the second was dedicated to the models that have made the history of the brand and the third one celebrated the Royal Oak.
The Royal Oak was designed in 1972 by Gerald Genta and has pioneered steel watches even if its success remains unbeaten.
The post recounts the highlights of our three days in Switzerland: Zurich, the AP stand, the exhibition and it’s closed with some pictures of Audermars Piguett cocktail and party.
Yesterday night we arrived in London and today we are attending Burberry show. don’t miss the fashion show live-streaming here on the blog.
