Boellis. Naples, via Vetreria a Chiaia 9.
Imagine an elegant apartment on the second floor of an aristocratic palace where polished white marble reflects the steps of extremely elegant men. Here we are at Boellis, shrine of the Neapolitan way on shaving.
The barber, founded in 1924 by Don Antonio Boellis, marked a deep rupture in the way of shaving in a city like Naples, a city where up to that time there was no talk of barber but there was the figure of the “barbitonsore” only: something a little bit more than a peddler.
Since its opening the barber started to have a great success and, in almost 90 of the history , it’s impossible to make a count of the intellectuals, artists and politicians who stopped at 9 Via Chiaia.
Antonio and Michele, grandchildren of the founder, are now “holding the scissors” and they are also creators of the exceptional line of perfumes and cosmetics for men called “Panama“, a real treat for connoisseurs.
