I’ve been invited to the new Sutor Mantellassi boutique in Via Montenapoleone in Milan. My special guide to discover the world was Christian Ottonelli, CEO of Lario 1988.

The historic Florentine brand is celebrating its centenary (1912-2012) and the opening of new boutiques in Milan and Shanghai are two important pieces of the great renewal that the brand is experiencing.

The Milan boutique counts two floors. On the first floor there’s the “Heritage Room”, a room that collects images of great people along with pairs of Sutor shoes created especially for them.
I was particularly touched to see the tsuper small shoes worn by a great woman like Oriana Fallaci or the  velvet slippers of Gabriele D’Annunzio.
In addition to this room, the other heart of the boutique is a sort of “Private Room”, decorated with crocodile walls, dedicated to the “made ​​to order” and the most demanding customer.

I couldn’t come back home without my first pair of Sutor Mantellassi shoes. I opted for a a classic pair of cognac laced shoes. What do you think?
